Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG

    Produced with Sagrantino grapes, traditional and indigenous grape variety from the area of Montefalco, this wine joins perfectly aromatic expressiveness, structure and innate elegance. Of great character and personality, it gives the best of it with the correct period of refining.

    Grapes: Sagrantino 100%

    Harvest: third ten days of September – first ten days of October. Hand picked from the vines on the property.

    Fermentation: crushed for at least 25 days using exclusively natural ferments. The wine doesn’t undergo any form of stabilising or filtration. Possible sediments should be considered as a guarantee of genuineness.

    Maturation: in barrique for 18 months and in bottles  from September 2010.

    Ageing: a wine which is able to age for at least 7-10 years if preserved in ideal conditions.

    2008 Production: 5800 bottles 15% Vol,  for sale from the 1st of November 2011.

    Colour: intense ruby red with slight purplish tints.
    Aroma: it tastes like blackberries, blackcurrants and Mediterranean scrubland, with spicy and vanilla hints.
    Flavour: a wine of great structure, with tight-knit smooth tannins, presents a long and persistent finish typical of the varieties with ideal propensity for ageing.
    Ideal with: rich first courses, red meat, ripe cheese, temperature 18 –20°C.
